For the 11th time in a row, Wheaton wins the Sindusfarma Award

During the most recent FCE Pharma 2009 fair, Wheaton Brasil won another Sindusfarma Quality Award. For the 11th time in a row, Wheaton Brasil was recognized as being the best supplier of Glass Packaging for the pharmaceutical industry.

The 2009 Sindusfarma Quality Award aims at honoring all of those who have been distinguished during the last twelve months, recognizing the efforts made by the pharmaceutical companies and of their suppliers in attaining the quality standards demanded by the sector, as well as in ascertaining that the necessary procedures are made for the due compliance on the part of products and services, therefore guaranteeing that the medicines comply with health recommendations.

The Sindusfarma Quality Award was created in 1997, and as from 2004 through 2008 it was known as Febrafarma Quality, organized and promoted based on the Supplier Qualification books of the mentioned federation. Again in 2009, it is coordinated and organized by Sindusfarma, with improvements made in its statutes and in the quality criteria to be followed for the choice of winners.

This year, apart from direct elections effected through means of electronic voting, a new polling system was introduced, which includes the certification of results by an Organization Committee, by an Audit Committee and later, by an audit of procedures established by the Pharmaceutical Research Institute Foundation of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Faculty, of the University of São Paulo (Fipfarma).

As stated by Sindusfarma’s executive Vice President: “The Sindusfarma Quality Award was created to recognize the efforts of the suppliers of the pharmaceutical industry, in achieving the quality standards demanded by the sector and, to emphasize the importance of this collaboration in obtaining quality, safety and the efficiency of pharmaceutical products”.

Standing out as one of the best package suppliers, Wheaton Brasil also celebrated the award received by Farmacap, another company belonging to the Wheaton Group, which was considered the best supplier of rubber caps, labels and aluminum seals for the pharmaceutical industry.

The award ceremony was celebrated at HSBC Brasil’s show room, on May 26th, with over 2000 persons attending, including suppliers, pharma company representatives and the press.
