The Wheaton Brasil Group's history begins with T.C. Wheaton, founded in 1888 in Millville city, New Jersey, United States.

Fábrica da Wheaton do Brasil em São Bernardo do Campo/SP em 1953After 64 years since its foundation and with many experiences gathered together, Wheaton do Brasil was founded in 1952 in the city of São Paulo.

Starting with a furnace with a daily capacity of 16 tons of glass extraction, in February 1953, Wheaton sends to the market the first penicillin glass container, made in a machine type I.S. with four sections and two gobs.

Around that time, two new furnaces were created, elevating the production capacity to 56 tons per day, with ten I.S. machines producing glass in several colors such as flint, amber and blue, working not only for the pharmaceutical market as well as the perfume and cosmetic ones.

In 1962, the company was transferred to São Bernardo do Campo (SP) into an area of 187.606 m², introducing the first line of glass containers for the Food industry.

During the 70's, the jar production had a great impulse. It enlarged the facilities reaching a daily capacity of 200 tons per day. Using machines with quadruple gob, they extracted glass in several colors, opal, cobalt blue, cognac, and green.

In November, 1976, they produced the first glass for Tableware. During the 80's, with the reconstruction and upgrading of their furnaces, they enlarged the industrial park in order to satisfy this line's growth.
